SLCO1B1 (OATP-C)

OATP1B1 (previously called OATPC, LST-1 or OATP2; gene symbol: SLCO1B1) is found to be specifically and highly expressed at the basolateral (sinusoidal) plasma membrane of hepatocytes and is considered to be one of the most important hepatic uptake transporters (Hsiang et al., 1999; König et al., 2000; Abe et al., 1999).
